Newkirk Graduate Research Fellowship
Multiyear fellowship support for graduate students doing solar and atmospheric research requiring the use of the National High Altitude Observatory in Boulder, CO.
Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute Short-Term Fellowships
The STRI Short-Term Fellowship Program provides support for short-term research projects at STRI for 3 months. Awards are primarily for graduate students, but are occasionally given to undergraduate and postdoctoral candidates. Proposals without the support of named STRI advisors are not funded.
NOAA Fisheries Sea Grant Fellowship
This grant funds students doing in the fields of population and ecosystem dynamics research. To help achieve these goals, each Fellow will be required to work closely with an expert (mentor) from NOAA Fisheries who will serve on the Fellow’s committee.
Gerald E. and Corinne L. Parsons Fund Award
The purpose of the fund is to make the collections of primary ethnographic materials housed anywhere at the Library of Congress available to the needs and uses of those in the private sector. Funding varies from $800-$3000.
Alice Fisher Society Fellowship
A fellowship of up to $5,000 to support research and ongoing collaboration with Center nurse historians. Selection of Alice Fisher Society scholars will be based on evidence of interest in, and aptitude for, historical research related to nursing.
PEO International Peace Scholarship
The International Peace Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for women from other countries for graduate study in the United States and Canada. Recipients must agree to return to their home countries after completion of their studies and must have at least one year of coursework remaining.
Educational Grants for Women from Developing Countries: US/Canada Program
These awards support women students from developing or middle-income countries currently studying in the United States or Canada. Candidates must have a record of service to women and children, commitment to returning to their home country, and be 25 years old at the time of application.
GCA Summer Scholarship in Field Botany
The GCA Summer Scholarship in Field Botany provides $2,000 for undergraduates and master’s students to gain additional knowledge and experience through summer field study in botany. The field program may be in North, Central, or South America, with preference given to programs located in the U.S.
Graduate Student Grants-In-Aid
Awards of up to $5000 for research that is not supported by other grant funds, or to carry out preliminary research to develop fundable thesis projects. The funds can be used for research assistant support, travel, supplies, or other direct research expenses.
NWSA Graduate Scholarship Award
NWSA will award $1,000 to a student who, in the fall of the year of the award, will be engaged in the research or writing stages of a Master’s Thesis or Ph.D. on women. Dissertation in the interdisciplinary field of women’s studies. Applicants must be members of NWSA.
