Predoctoral Fellowship

The AHA predoctoral fellowship allows students to initiate careers in cardiovascular and stroke research by providing research assistance and training. This award has a $23,844 stipend, and is open to U.S. Citizens, permanent residents, and certain international students.

Brazilian Initiation Scholarship

This scholarship provides students with a on-time $1,500 travel scholarship to do exploratory research or language study in Brazil. The scholarship targets aspiring Brazilianists with relatively little or no experience in Brazil.

Newberry Library – American Musicological Society (AMS) Fellowship

This fellowship for PhD candidates or postdoctoral scholars supports one month’s work in residence at the Newberry. Preference will be given to a scholar working in music or musicology. Applicants must be members of the AMS at the time of application and through the period of the fellowship.

PEO International Peace Scholarship

This $12,500 award provides scholarships for international women for graduate study in the US and Canada. The applicant must have a full year of coursework remaining and be enrolled and in residence for the entire school year, and is required to return to her home country upon completion of degree.

Civil Society Scholar Awards

This award provides up to $10,000 doctoral students to conduct international research (including fieldwork, archival research, curriculum development, and international collaborations) for 2-9 months. Applicants must be a citizen of one of the listed countries determined by Open Society.

Graduate Studies Fellowship

The purpose of this fellowship program is to foster a new generation of Korean Studies scholars by providing scholarship support to students who are currently enrolled in an MA or PhD program in Korean Studies.
