What is the Mentoring Program?

The GradFund Mentoring Program is a summer program designed to help you develop a competitive fellowship or grant application.  We offer two different programs:  one for early career fellowships and another for dissertation level research grants and fellowships.

What Will I Do?

We have created a set of program activities designed to help you write a competitive application which include blogging, group discussions in the GradFund Forums, peer mentoring and workshopping of drafts.  Review the program details for more information.

When will the program take place?

The programs will run over the summer and will include workshops, on-line activities and individual appointments.  Review the details for each program to learn more.

How do I participate?

Participation is by application only and there are limited seats available.  The deadline to apply for each program:

  • Dissertation Funding Mentoring Program:  May 1, 2017
  • Early Graduate Fellowship Mentoring Program:  May 15, 2017

Early Graduate Fellowship Mentoring Program

Apply to participate in the Early Graduate Study Fellowship Mentoring Program.  The program runs June 13-August 30, 2017. By participating in the program, you will develop an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship or Ford Predoctoral fellowship application to submit during the fall 2017 application season.  During the program, a dedicated team of fellowship advisors will work with you to develop your application materials.  As a part of the program, you will have an opportunity blog, interact with fellowship and grant winners and participate in peer review.  The program has a limited number of spaces available.  Be sure to apply by May 15, 2017.

Dissertation Funding Mentoring Program

Apply to participate in the Dissertation Funding Mentoring Program.  The summer program will run May 23-August 29, 2017. By participating in the program, you will develop a dissertation level fellowship or grant application to submit during the fall 2017 application season.  During the program, a dedicated team of fellowship advisors will work with you to develop your application materials.  As a part of the program, you will have an opportunity blog, interact with fellowship and grant winners and participate in peer review.  The program has a limited number of spaces available.  Be sure to apply by May 1, 2017.
