Writing About Previous Research

by | Aug 15, 2016 | Doctoral Funding Mentoring Program, Uncategorized

Where Have You Been and What Have You Done: Last time you wrote about what you want to do in the future. This time we want you to go further and help tell your audience: what experiences have prepared you to undertake your proposed project?

Use this week’s blog to share with your imagined audience some of the things you’ve done that you’re most proud of that you think have prepared you to take the next step in your research. You might even select just one anecdote that you really want to share, keeping in mind why you want to share it with your particular funder. Remember, this is about crafting a narrative, maybe a cocktail party story with fellow nerdy academics, all in the service of helping you grow more comfortable sharing the parts of your intellectual history you feel make you a great candidate for your funder. Group C should post responses by 8 p.m. on Thursday August 18th. Group A will post comments by 8 p.m. on Sunday August 21st.
